Abstract
The Sun outage prediction for the purpose of satellite operation and network traffic planning, is discussed. The predictions of sun outage for the signal from INTELSAT V, received at Master Control Facility, Hassan, were made. The measurements were conducted and predictions were verified. Computer programme for sun outage was developed. For quick reference, the nomograms showing time and day for peak outage as a function of ground location for INSAT-1B (74°E) for both seasons, March and September/October, are presented here.
