Abstract

A speech scrambler system using a new technique of random sign alteration of amplitude samples has been designed and tested. The problem of transmission through voice-grade circuits having large amount of amplitude and phase distortion has been tackled by using partial response codes. The synchronization techniques have been discussed and the overall performance of the system has been evaluated. The results have been found to be quite satisfactory.
