Abstract
In previous papers, authors have studied radiation properties of microstrip antenna in one-component (electron) plasma and reported some interesting observations. Microstrip antennas mounted on-board a satellite or a space vehicle encounter two-component (electron-ion) plasma. Therefore, our earlier investigations have been extended for two-component warm plasma. The expressions for the EM mode and the P mode field patterns of the antenna are developed and field computations are done for different ratios of source-to-plasma frequencies. A comparison has also been made between the results of the one-component and two-component computations. It is suggested that effect of ions, though small, should be taken into consideration for accurate prediction of fields.
