Pages 104-108 | Received 15 May 1985, Published online: 02 Jun 2015

Abstract

Importance of synchronization and different synchronization methods in spread spectrum systems are indicated. Serial search for code acquisition and non-coherent Delay Lock Loop (DLL) for code tracking are explained in detail alongwith the various design considerations, implementation problems etc. The performance of a code synchronizer at 2 Mbps developed for Spread Spectrum Multiple Access (SSMA) experiment via APPLE satellite has been described. An improved code synchronizer at 20 Mbps being developed for use in a Large Channel Capacity Spread Spectrum system currently under development at Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO, Ahmedabad has also been presented.
