Realization of Multi-dimensional Recursive Digital Filter through n-Variable Rational Approximants

Abstract

In this paper, an algorithm based on the definition of n-variable rational approximants, defined by Chisholm and Me Ewan (1974), is developed which can provide filter of any desired dimension. For the normal 2-D power series, the digital filters obtained by the algorithm developed in this paper is compared with the one obtained by the method of Bose and Basu (1980), vis-a-vis their stability using the test developed by the authors.
