Abstract
A novel frequency-to-code converter that transforms an input frequency fi linearly into an n-bit output code is implemented with a minimum system microprocessor. Operating software is designed to make automatic synchronization of the programme execution with the input signal and drive the microprocessor to carry out the conversion by Successive Approximation Logic in a time equal to Ti, where nTi) is the period of the input signal and n is the number of bits in the output code.
