An Implementation of Trigonometric Transforms using Plane Rotations

Pages 459-461 | Received 20 Dec 1988, Published online: 02 Jun 2015

Abstract

A plane rotation based implementation of trigonometric transforms is described. This is a merged arithmetic realization where generation of sines and cosines and multiply-add operations are carried out by shift-add operations in a CORDIC or recursive switched capacitance based rotation stage. The usefulness of such realization in Hartley and discrete cosine transform is demonstrated.
