Measurement of Propagation Characteristics of Periodically Width-Modulated Rectangular Waveguide

Pages 12-15 | Received 21 Mar 1988, Published online: 02 Jun 2015

Abstract

The propagation characteristics of electromagnetic wave through a rectangular waveguide having variable width, a sinusoidal function of axial distance, have been experimentally investigated. The paper, deals with the measurements of the Bloch-wave characteristic impedance and the phase constant as function of frequency and the spatial variation of the electric field of the waveguide. Principles of the techniques employed have been successfully established.
