Abstract
A model based off-line programming system has been described for generating robot program from the CAD description of the part. The task description is in the form of a rule base that captures the logic of the manufacturing task. While the application chosen offers some advantages for successful implementation, the paper outline problems to be addressed for automatic process planning.
