Abstract

Broadband Circularly Polarized Diagonal Horn Antennas, capable of high power handling working over frequency 2.4 GHz through 12.4 GHz have been designed and developed. Low loss, high strength radome has been used to protect the antennas. The diagonal horn possesses almost perfect circular symmetry beam; thus resulting in low axial ratio off the antenna axis also. This antenna has very low side lobe in principal planes compared to conventional pyramidal horn of square cross section.

The antenna is having directional coverage and can be used for high power transmitting application. Experimental results are presented. This type of antenna is ideally suited for shipborne, vehicle mounted and airborne applications.
