Multiple Access Communications—An Overview

Abstract

Multiple access methods play a very important role in all communication networks. After developing the fundamental concept of the multiple access, a unified approach has been presented to describe its applications in satellite communications and computer networks. The resources for multiple access and their control techniques are properly identified and classified in this overview paper. Some practical systems showing applications of the different resources and control protocols have been included as examples of multiple access concept and the techniques.
