Optimum Location of Feed-Port for Circularly and Linearly Polarized Microstrip Antennas

Abstract

Investigations on three circularly polarized microstrip antennas and one linearly polarized microstrip antenna for optimum feed locations are presented. It is observed that a narrow range of possible feed-port locations for achieving minimum input VSWR, without affecting the radiation characteristics, can be predicted for these antenna geometries. These findings reduce the computational effort in the design of antennas by way of reductions in number of iterations.
