Conduction-band Nonparabolicity Effects on Inter-Subband Absorption in Quantum-well Wires

Pages 74-77 | Published online: 02 Jun 2015

Abstract

The effects of conduction-band nonparabolicity on the inter-subband absorption in quantum-well wire structures are studied. The nonparabolicity is found to shift the absorption peak to lower energies, broaden it, and reduce its amplitude. The effects are stronger for In0·53Ga0·47As quantum wire structures than those for GaAs structures.
