On the Structure and Performance of an Extended Range Quick Response Second Order DPLL

Abstract

A modified structure of a second order digital phase locked loop (DPLL) has been proposed which will have a larger frequency acquisition range and a faster convergence rate than those of conventional loops. Simulated responses of the proposed system to phase-step and frequency- step inputs have been incorporated to establish the superiority of the proposed system.
