Distributed Queue Dual Bus Metropolitan Area Network: A Review of Performance Analysis of the Medium Access Control Protocol

Abstract

Standardization, prototyping and application of unidirectional bus networks are introduced followed by a detailed description of Distributed Queue Dual Bus Medium Access Control (DQDB MAC) protocol. A review of throughput analysis and delay performance of the MAC protocol along with a survey of related literature is presented.
