Computer Aided Design of Dual Mode Electron Gun

Abstract

This paper deals with finite element and iterative techniques for the computer aided design of dual mode electron gun. The functional for the application of finite element method is calculated using Poisson's equation in the form of two dimensional axially symmetric spherical co-ordinates (r, θ). A computer program is developed on the basis of proposed scheme which is used for the determination of electrode shapes of dual mode electron gun whose dimensions are known. The result obtained for a dual mode electron gun is shown which is the same as expected theoretically.
