Abstract

Speech interpolation technique is used in present day communication to ensure maximum utilization of the available communication channels. The measurement and modelling of on-off speech characteristics are essential for the design and performance analysis of speech interpolation systems. This paper presents the on-off characteristics of conversational Bangla speech over a telephone channel, using a large database. Proper mathematical models are also developed for them.
