Abstract

The problem of matching two images of the same scene taken from different viewing angles is a challenging problem in the field of image processing. The complexity of the scene depicted in the aerial images and the limitations of the image processing techniques makes the matching process extremely difficult In this paper we present a new matching technique for matching aerial images. Symbolic scene description generated from the input image is matched with either the reference scene description or with the description generated from another image. The matching strategy suggested is translation invariant and is also invariant to rotation.
