Abstract
Cascade control of nonlinear systems with input and output multiplicities is theoretically analysed. The system is an isothermal continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR) with a nonideal mixing represented by Cholette's model. The system in the primary loop is represented by a Hammerstein nonlinear system and the system in the secondary loop is represented by a transfer function. Integral controllers are designed for both the loops. The performance of the proposed nonlinear integral controller is compared with that of the linear integral Controller.
