A Novel Scheme of Data Compression and Reconstruction using Multilayer Artificial Neural Network

Abstract

Data compression finds potential applications in digital communication and image processing. This paper proposes a novel approach for data compression and reconstruction using artificial neural network. Computer simulations have been carried out to show that both for binary and non-binary inputs, the reconstructed outputs are in excellent agreement with the transmitted data.
