Abstract
The paper presents a method of derivation of closed form expressions for the elements of the capacitance matrix of a pair of insulated wires above a ground plane. Application of hyperbolic cotangent transformation transforms cylindrical conductor boundaries to parallel plates and dielectric surfaces and ground plane to curved contours. Replacing the continuous curved contours by a number of discrete steps and considering the series and parallel combination of all elementary capacitances, the expressions for the elements of the capacitance matrix are derived in the form of integrals. Numerical data are presented.
