Phase Recovery from Bispectrum

Abstract

In this paper, first a procedure to recover the Fourier phase of a signal from the phase of its bispectrum; namely the Matsuoka and Ulrych algorithm, is presented. It has also been shown that the Matsuoka and Ulrych algorithm fails when wrapped bispectral phase is used. An alternative scheme which reduces the computational complexity is presented. The scheme is based on the observation that the Fourier phase is an odd function of frequency. We demonstrate the results of the proposed algorithm for the phase recovery of deterministic signals and stochastic processes.
