SUMMARY

Monthly collection of zooplankton samples and cultivable fishes were made from different sampling stations of Sagar lake. The seasonal variation of different groups of zooplankton and cultivable fishes was recorded. The data was analyzed statistically to obtain analysis of variance (‘F’ test) and correlation coefficient (‘r’) between zooplankton and cultivable fishes. However, in case of Labeo rohita and Catla catla, a moderate degree and a low degree of negative correlation with zooplankton numbers has been noted at littoral and limnetic zones, respectively. A moderate degree of positive correlation with the numbers of Cirrhina mrigala and Cyprinus carpio has been recorded at both zones.
