∗ The first news item that reports on the Lisbon Conference of 8‐11 April 1997 is followed by the three documents that were ratified: the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education in the European Region, the Explanatory Report to the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education in the European Region, and the Final Act of the Diplomatic Conference for the Adoption of the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications Concerning Higher Education in the European Region. Except for certain changes in format to conform to the style of this publication and the deletion of paragraph numbering in the case of the Explanatory Report, the texts are reproduced herein in the form in which they were ratified.
