Pages 477-488 | Received 05 Apr 1986, Accepted 10 Jun 1986, Published online: 03 Aug 2006

Abstract

This article delineates the educational content, levels of education and different academic areas of study presently needed for interdisciplinary education. The thesis of this paper is that gerontology is headed in some positive directions in interdisciplinary education but that different schools efforts to “promote” the needs for gerontological development and interdepartmental collaboration to both school administrators and to the public lack unity.
