Abstract
Some new species of the coleopterous family Tenebrionidae (Coleoptera Heteromera) collected in Venezuela and Northern Argentina (South America) are described, namely: Rhypasma bordoni, Aemymone bordoni, Aemymone silvanae, Paratenetus huequensis, Paratenetus bordoni, Cyrtosoma cuyaguensis and Paralorelopsis bordoni. All of them are from Venezuela, except Aemymone silvanae, collected in Northern Argentina. For each species the relationships with allied species are indicated, together with the geographical distribution and the ecological characteristics of the inhabited zone. Some comments are made about the effect of isolation on the evolution of some species. The lack of thorough collections and researches in Venezuela is emphasized.
