Abstract
By the middle of the next decade Hungary wishes to become the number one health tourism destination of Europe, an intention which is supported by the dynamic and significant flare experienced in recent years in Hungarian wellness tourism. The complexity and increase in wellness supply is supported by numerous international and national economic, social and demographic factors. Although the building of wellness hotels and spas, and daily wellness service provisions is characteristic of all Hungarian regions, we can observe considerable spatial concentration in the present Hungarian wellness supply. The patterned spatial disparities of the different service provider types are influenced by unique factors, due to which spatial structures have been formed which are not following the general economic development level in every case.
