Verhältnis des Phytoplanktons zur Bakterienbesiedlung der Sedlice-Talsperre

Mit 8 Abbildungen und 1 Tabelle im Text

Pages 201-211 | Published online: 01 Dec 2017

Summary

Hydrobacteriology, not before long a neglected branch of science, continually is getting forward in the field of limnological research. The microflora of reservoirs shows many common features with that one of lakes and other stagnant types of water. Aside its proper practical importance hydrobacteriology of reservoirs is focussed to a series of theoretical so far unsolved problems, e. g. concerning the relationship existing between bacteria and phytoplankton.

In the Sedlice-reservoir phytonannoplankton represents one of the main sources of organic matter supply, on the other side bacteria are one of the most important representatives of transformers and decomposers of organic matter. Since it can be expected that transformation stages of organic matter occur in certain intervals, in the first part of this study great attention was paid to how related phytoplankton is to bacterial life in the water body, that is to solve relationship between the fundamental production and destruction constituents of the whole limnetic biomass. These relations are of a very complex nature, depending on many variable factors. However, there exist some distinct dependencies which are illustrated by 8 figures in the text.
