Abstract
State Planning is a political process; a process which the Industrial Engineer/Systems Analyst seems well-qualified to enter. There are problems for which current definitions and concepts may be inappropriate and areas where more research is needed. However, there are some major governmental problems which the Industrial Engineer/Systems Analyst is prepared to tackle right now. The potential annual savings is measurable in billions of dollars.
