Abstract
A theoretical solution to the problem of two-dimensional flow of a compressible gas in a thin passage is presented. The solution accounts for the effects of viscosity, inertia, compressibility and irreversible entropy production due to viscous dissipation. It represents the first complete two-dimensional solution which lakes all these factors into consideration. The final equations developed are easy to solve and give good agreement with experiment and previous theory.
