Raman Spectroscopy for Protein Analysis

, &

Abstract

Proteins are essential parts of organisms and participate in virtually every process within cells. Raman spectroscopy can be a powerful tool for the characterization of modified amino acids and proteins. In addition to the potential for quantitative results, it offers the advantage of not requiring any sample preparation. This review focuses on applications for protein analysis, published in the period 2010–2014.
