SUMMARY
A method for resolution enhancement based on the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM), with simulated annealing, is proposed in order to enhance spatial resolution of remote sensing satellite images. The proposed method is compared with the existing least square and conjugate gradient methods, utilizing simulated 50 cm spatial resolution images with an additive noise and a sampling jitter. As a result, it is found that although the proposed MEM with simulated annealing requires a time consumable convergence process, the restored image quality is the best when the additive noise and the sampling jitter are relatively large.
