Semantics of two emotion verbs in Russian: Bojat'sja ’to be afraid’ & Nadejat'sja ’to hope'∗

This paper was written in Los Angeles, CA, where we stayed in early 1990 under Melčuk's John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship.
