Abstract
The plaintiff, a student at a high school owned and operated by the defendant, Community Unit School District 300, allegedly was injured in her school's gymnasium when a volleyball net crank she was turning either “broke loose” or “snapped back” and struck her in the face. The plaintiff alleged that the defendant was negligent or engaged in willful and wanton conduct.
