Abstract
In this paper, a theoretical analysis for the evaluation of axes reactances of reluctance motors is presented to deal with different rotor configurations. Six different types of solid rotors were built to compare the theoretical values with those obtained experimentally
Equations predicting axes reactances for different rotor types are given. The axes reactances were measured experimentally for the rotors built and compared with the corresponding predicted
values. The excellent agreement between the measured and calculated results justify the technique used.
