AN INTEGRAL POSITION TRANSDUCER FOR STEPPING MOTORS

Pages 145-154 | Received 09 Jan 1984, Published online: 27 Apr 2007

Abstract

This paper explains an integral position transducer without any moving parts connected to rotating shaft of the motor. The scheme makes use of modulating and demodulating circuits for signal processing. Multiple capacitors and bridge networks are used owing to the need to produce two channel sinusoidal signals, and to limit sensitivity to rotor eccentricity. Using this transducer it is possible to perform lead angle control in closed-loop system, and low frequency oscillation test to show the frequency and amplitude of angular swing of the rotor.
