ABSTRACT

The basic difficulty in the application of Fourier integral transform to the analysis of an electromagnetic field in a linear induction motor (LIM) is to perform inverse transformations. The residue theorem, being usually applied, requires finding the roots of a certain complex non-linear equation. These roots are often calculated in an approximate way. In this paper, an accuracy evaluation of approximate roots is made and the influence of errors in roots on the calculated thrust is investigated.
