Matrix Calculation of Inductances for the General Theory of Electrical Machines

Pages 53-63 | Received 05 Jul 1985, Published online: 01 Feb 2007

ABSTRACT

The general use of the matrix analysis of electrical machines is limited by the necessity to measure, or to separately calculate, the self and mutual inductances of the machine. The matrix calculation of these inductances given in the present paper makes it possible to develop universal computer programs for the analysis of the parameter influence on the performance. Not only the harmonics of the winding distribution but also the air-gap irregularities are taken into account. The calculation of the leakage inductances includes the inductive coupling of the phases in the slots and in the end region.
