COMPARISON OF FIRST ORDER AND SECOND ORDER STATE ESTIMATORS

Abstract

First order constant matrix weighted least squares state estimators have been in use for a long time. Recently, second order load flow and second order state estimators have attracted considerable attention. This paper proves theoretically as well as through system studies, that the first order and second order constant matrix state estimators in rectangular coordinates not only generate same iterates but also have same computational efficiency.
