Abstract

In this paper, the speed of an induction motor is controlled using a chopper circuit on the rotor side. Analysis of transient, including switching power supply and changing in duty cycle of chopper, and steady-state performance of the chopper-controlled induction motor are predicted-Analysis and simulation consider the induction motor equations from the rotor side where a diode bridge is connected. Experimental results are obtained to verify predicted behaviour based on this digital simulation.
