ABSTRACT

This paper presents a new design principle called the “Three-Equation Principle” and a new design method called “ Vector of Slot Concentrated Method” for pole-changing winding with ▵/ ▵ - or 3Y + 2Y/3Y -connection. This principle has been used for single-winding 2-speed induction motors, some of which have been operated industrially. Practical applications of this design principle have proved its superiority.
