Abstract
It has been found that Li2B4O7 crystal shows ferroelectric activity in the c-direction in the temperature range from room temperature to 100°C. The values of spontaneous polarization and coercive field at 25°C estimated from the shown D–E hysteresis loop are 1.44 μC/cm2 and 2.5 kV/cm, respectively. With increasing temperature above 100°C, the ferroelectric hysteresis loop was reduced into a line-shape with high conducting behavior. The reason is believed that a high ionic conductivity of Li2B4O7 make a sample into a leak capacitor.
