Synthesis and Biological Activities of 3′-Deoxy-3′-Isocyano, -Isothiocyano, and -Isoselenocyano-thymidines

Abstract

2′,3′-Dideoxy-3′-isothiocyano, -isocyano, and -isoselenocyanothymidines (6b, 8b, and 9) were synthesized from the corresponding 3′-amino derivatives (5a, b). These nucleosides were tested for inhibitory activity of the pathogenicity of HIV-1 and the growth inhibitory activity of mouse and human cancer cell lines.
