Abstract

Ellipticine (1) and the derivatives 2,3-dimethyl-6(2-dimethyl-aminoethyl)6H-indolo-(2,3-b)quinoxaline (2) and 6-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)6H-indolo-(2,3-b)quinoxaline (3) intercalate in the duplex 4CGCGATCGCG)with slow exchange kinetics. (I) and (2) show a non-specific interaction. (3) shows an AT specific interaction.
