Abstract
A deoxyribodinucleotide phosphonoacetate derivative has been prepared, separated into individual diastereomers, and incorporated into oligodeoxyribonucleotides possessing alternating phosphodiester and phosphonoacetate backbone linkages. The hybridization properties and enzymatic stabilities of these oligonucleotides have been studied.
