Abstract

In future DNA sequencing, gel electrophoresis, which is particularly effective for de novo sequencing, is likely to be replaced by sequencing by hybridization, mass spectrometry, or combinations of these two methods, which are particularly effective for comparative or diagnostic sequencing.
