Abstract
The current and future states of the U.S. economy are assessed. The roles of tax cuts and supply-side effects in the economic recovery are discussed. Prospects for the federal budget deficit and for future economic growth are described. Finally, attention is given to future policies that would lead not only to an extension of the recovery process but also to a more balanced, problem-free economic environment.
