PATTERNS OF DRUG USE AMONG DUI ARRESTEES: A RESEARCH NOTE

&
Pages 215-222 | Published online: 10 Jan 2012

ABSTRACT

The main purpose of this research note is to give a detailed description of drug use patterns among DUI offenders using both self-report and urinalysis data. The data were obtained from 3,987 recently booked arrestees in the Drug Use Forecasting (DUF) program in Omaha, Nebraska from July 1987 to March 1995. Specifically, the research note supplements Bramlet's (1995) examination of self-reported drug use patterns of DUI offenders, published in the Journal of Crime and Justice, by using both self-report and urinalysis data obtained from recently booked arrestees.
