ABSTRACT

Different options are developed for the separation of copper from zinc during their transfer from hydrochloric acid to sulfuric acid medium by means of the bifunctional extractant Kelex-100®. The method consists of the stages extraction, scrubbing, stripping and conditioning of the extractant. The metals may be separated during the extraction, scrubbing or stripping stage. Solutions of different acidity, metal and chloride content may be processed.
