QUANTITATIVE ASPECTS OF POLYMER DEGRADATION IN THE LIVING BODY

Pages 551-597 | Published online: 03 Jan 2007

Over the last several decades extensive clinical research has been devoted to the medical application of polymeric implants. Scientists in the last few years have paid special attention to the chemical physics of the processes that accompany the reaction of polymers with living tissue. Two main questions must first be answered in this type of study.
